Absence Management - The Absence Take you created does not appear in the Country Take page
So you have created Absence Take and done all other setup but when you cant find this Take in the Country Take page. What could have gone wrong, lets take a look...
1. Is the Absence take added to the Element Group?
2. Is the Absence take added to the Sections?
3. Is the leave available to Self Service - check box in Absence Take type page?
This should solve thisproblem

Absence Management - Excel to CI data load fails because of forecasting
Hello Guys! Yes so your data load is failing every time you are trying to load the historic (legacy) data to your absence management module so that users can see their leaves from the old worn out tool they were using. The error that you get is to the similar lines of these leaves need to be forecasted.
Open up the Absence Take page, navigation: Main Menu > Setup HRMS > Product Related > Global Payroll & Absence Mgmt > Elements > Absence Take

Find Forecasting link at the bottom of the Absence Take Name tab. Uncheck Forecasting Required and that's it you are good to go.

Absence Management - Leave applied by Manager goes to manager's manager
When the Manager tries to apply the leave for his reports it goes to the manager's report. If your business requires it to be approved as soon as the manager applies the leave then this post is for you.
Very simple solution to this, uncheck Manager Approval Required.
The PeopleSoft recognizes that the manager has submitted the leave and it gets approved automatically.

My Personalizations - Date and Time formatting, Calendar formatting
You may need to add change personalizations locality wise. This can be done two ways instead of using any scripts.
The 1st Way:
The user goes to their My Personalizations page in Main Menu does the required changes like;
The 1st Way:

1. Afternoon designator (PM, pm)
2. Auto-recognize Gregorian dates

8. Use Local Timezone
9. First day of week

These options can be changed here by the user him/herself.
The 2nd Way:
Already Locale defaults are added in the delivered setup found in the navigation: Main Menu > PeopleTools > Personalization > Locale Defaults
And this to take effect to the users UI they need to change their language preferences in IE, Tools > Internet Options.
The 3rd Way:
But how many users would actually go ahead and do these changes by themselves. A simple script could help us with these changes without the users breaking a sweat.
insert into PSUSERPRSNLOPTN (OPRID,OPTN_CATEGORY_LVL,USEROPTN,USER_OPTION_CNTL,USER_OPTION_VALUE) values ('EMPOYEEOPRID','PPTL','WEEKFIRSTDAY','y','1');
This script changes the first day of the week to Monday, Sunday being the default.
Main Menu > PeopleTools > Personalization > Personalizations Options ==> the User Options and the default format values can be found here. Use PSXLATITEM for the format values.
